Finances overview
The Overview page gives you a quick picture of how your business is doing: money in, money out, and what’s left.
Open it
Go to Finances → Overview in the left menu.
Pick a period
Use the Period dropdown at the top: This month, This year or Last year. Everything on the page updates to match.
The three totals
- Income: all payments from families and agencies, plus any other income you’ve recorded.
- Expenses: everything you’ve spent.
- Net profit: income minus expenses. It turns red if you spent more than you brought in.
By month
One row per month with income, expenses and net profit. The Total row at the bottom matches the three totals above. This card is hidden when you pick This month.
Top expenses
Your five biggest expense categories for the period, with how much of your spending each one makes up.
Add something quickly
Use + Expense or + Other income at the top of the page. The totals update as soon as you save.
Where the numbers come from
KidKeeper counts money when it’s actually received or spent, not when an invoice is sent. An unpaid invoice doesn’t show as income until a payment is recorded.
